Join The Dark Side

November 16, 2016

Inject some drama into your kitchen...

Dark kitchens have made a huge impression in 2016 and the trend is set to continue into next year. A dramatic dark shade is a great way to make a statement in your space. There are many ways to incorporate a moody hue into your kitchen, here are a few ideas to get you inspired into joining the dark side!

Back in Black

Blacks and dark charcoals are an obvious choice for taking the ultimate step towards a dark and atmospheric space. Choosing between a gloss or matt finish to your units will have a huge affect on the final look and feel of your kitchen so choose wisely! It can often establish the difference between a modern and traditional end product.

Shades of Grey

Grey is the perfect colour to incorporate into your kitchen without the heavy feeling that can sometime come with black, it's a great compromise. If you are worried about having too many dark tones in your kitchen, how about mixing it with a contrasting light work surface to reflect some light. The Marble worktop below is a great contrast to these Woodbury units in Anthracite.

Shake it up

Going for a darker palette in your kitchen doesn’t mean you have to stick to monochrome and grey colour schemes. How about a dark blue or a striking aubergine softened with a wooden worktop.

Olive and Avocado shades have also seen a big come back this year with Laura Ashley releasing the Contemporary Richmond Range as part of their first Kitchen Collection. A perfect example of how dark units can create a stunning finish in any kitchen.
