The customer approached our team as they were looking to totally revamp their kitchen, including structural work to the chimney breast which would become a great focal point.
Despite the changes, we equally needed to introduce furniture and features that could easily complement their home, so a traditional choice of Wexford paint and furniture in a dashing silver grey Platinum with oak coloured carcasses helped to execute this. We also used our Colmar Oak range of laminate surfaces with upstands all around.
One of the main reasons for our work was the removal of an existing range cooker which meant altering the size of the fireplace and installing extra structural support, under the guidance of a structural engineer. Once fitted and plastered, we then installed dusty, pale airforce blue coloured glass splashbacks around the three sides of the opening to help add further character and style.
With much of the arduous jobs out of the way, it was onto the finishing touches to enhance the look and feel of the kitchen space. We installed LED under-unit lighting to accentuate as well as a Perrin & Rowe Phoenician tap with a composite sink to bring a traditional and premium appeal.
Overall, the room now succeeds in conveying a long-established and classical feel as well as showing modern twists to not only complement but also improve the usability of the kitchen as a whole.
